Questions & Answers
Here are the key details for the wedding weekend in Tuscany.
What is the dress code?
Please visit our Dress Code / Wedding Theme page for current attire guidance.
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by June 30th.
How should we get to the venue?
The easiest options are a rental car, taxi service, or the wedding shuttle from Florence.
What is the difference between Tenuta i Massini and Antica Fattoria di Paterno?
Antica Fattoria di Paterno translates to "The Ancient Farm of Paterno" and is where we'll be saying "I do!" and celebrating afterward. The farm dates back to the 13th century, and the owners, Anna & Piero Picchi, have opened their doors to weddings since 2010.
Their son runs the sister location just 3 minutes down the road: Tenuta i Massini and the newly renovated Barondoli Estate. Tenuta i Massini is where we will be having the welcome party and sleeping. It is comprised of many different room styles, most as apartment-style spaces where families and close friends can stay together in their own apartment. While it is only a few minutes' walk to Antica di Paterno, we will be providing a shuttle to and from the venue on the day of the wedding.
Can we rely on Uber in Tuscany?
No, please do not rely on Uber in Tuscany.
How do I book a room?
See our Accommodations page for exact room descriptions and details. There are a wide range of rooms, and we encourage those willing to take advantage of the larger apartment style rooms with multiple bedrooms and shared spaces. You will book directly through the venue when you are ready, and keep in mind we will do our best to update our page regularly with the remaining number of each room type, but the venue is the ultimate source of truth as far as remaining available rooms go.
Why is the wedding in Tuscany?
The Tuccori family name originates in Tuscany, and specifically in Lucca. If you are interested you can read more about the history of the region and the Tuccori family story here.
Why is my invitation numbered?
Sidney oil painted the place we will be making it official under the Oak Tree. These are limited prints of her work, and something we hope that you will find to be a special keepsake for the memory of the time you joined us as witnesses to our union under the Tuscan sun.
Can I bring my child?
Yes. Children are welcome to join us if you would like to bring the kiddos along. We are attempting to acquire child care for the night of the wedding; should this interest you please reach out to us at sidneyandjameswedding@gmail.com.
How much is traveling to Italy going to cost?
We have shared a planning snapshot with family and included that same photo here for quick reference.
Will there be dietary accommodations?
Yes, but it is important to let us know beforehand in your RSVP response.
What if I can't arrive until the wedding day?
No worries. When you RSVP, ensure you only confirm attendance to the Wedding (not the Welcome Dinner). Please note room rates are a two night rate and we are unable to offer a single night option, so you may consider other accommodation options locally if this is the case.
Are there other accommodations outside of Tenuta i Massini?
Yes, however, transportation to and from the venue cannot be guaranteed for guests staying elsewhere, and local options may be limited. We have exclusively reserved Tenuta i Massini for our wedding weekend and encourage guests to stay on-site, where a range of accommodations are available and event access will be most convenient.
When should we arrive in Florence?
If you are interested in being on the shuttle we will provide, you should plan to be in Florence very early on the 7th at the latest, but otherwise we hope that many of you will join us for the pre-wedding events. On Saturday the 5th, we will be taking a day trip to visit Lucca and Pisa, and in the evening there is a festival of lights. Then on Sunday the 6th, in the evening we will be gathering at a rooftop for sunset cocktails and food before we all head over to the venue on Monday morning.
What should we do with our time in Florence?
Check out our Things To Do Florence page. We have put together a list of great options not only for Florence, but also other areas in Italy we expect people might be before or after the wedding. We encourage people to coordinate with each other to make the most of your time outside of celebrating with us.
Are you expecting a gift?
Of course we appreciate any gifts, but the gift of your presence in Tuscany with us is more than enough. We know how much of a commitment it is to travel abroad to be with us. That is why we have kept our registry limited, but if you do contribute to our Luna di Miele fund we will send you a picture and personalized message so you know exactly what you helped make possible in our post wedding travels where we plan to scuba dive in the Azores as well as fulfill Sidney's lifelong dream of seeing the lions on an African safari, with a bit of relaxation mixed in as well.
